What this policy covers
This policy applies to:
- This website — www.kirstensander.com
- Our help desk — helpdesk.kirstensander.com
- The Daily Tilt app (
com.dailytilt.app) on the Apple App Store
and Google Play, and the Daily Tilt website at dailytilt.kirstensander.com
Products that run on their own domains — menumental.io
and kirstensander.eu — publish their own privacy
policies at those addresses.
This website
The website is a brochure site. It has no user accounts and no tracking or advertising
cookies. Our web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, timestamp, page requested,
browser user-agent) for security and troubleshooting; these are deleted after 30 days.
WordPress may set functional cookies only if you interact with a form or comment. If you
email us or use a form on this site, we keep that correspondence so we can answer you and
handle any follow-up.
Our help desk
When you open a support ticket we collect the name, email address and message you provide,
plus any attachments, so we can resolve your issue and keep a record of it. Tickets and their
correspondence are retained for 24 months after closure, then deleted.
The Daily Tilt app
Daily Tilt is a daily puzzle game. It does not ask for your name, email address or phone
number. This is everything the app collects:
| Data | Why | Where it lives |
|---|---|---|
| A random player ID, generated on first launch — not your name, email, or a device serial number | Saving your solves, streaks, votes and unlocks so they survive reinstalls and appear on leaderboards | On your device and on our game server |
| The display name you choose (optional) | Shown next to your scores on leaderboards | On our game server |
| Gameplay records — levels solved, move sequences, solve times, modifier votes | Verifying solves, ranking leaderboards, and letting the community’s votes shape the next day’s puzzle | On your device and on our game server |
| Basic usage events — an event name (for example “solve” or “ad_offer”), your anonymous player ID, the platform (iOS, Android or web), and a timestamp | Understanding which features are used and where players get stuck, so we can improve the game | On our game server only — no third-party analytics service is used |
| Google Play Games profile — Android only, and only if you choose to sign in | Cross-device sync and verified leaderboard entries | Handled by Google; we store the resulting player identity |
| A push notification token — only if you turn on the daily reminder | Sending the one “today’s puzzle is live” notification | On our game server, and with Apple Push Notification service (iOS) or Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (Android) |
| Purchase state for Daily Tilt Plus and undo tokens | Unlocking what you bought, and restoring it on a new device | Apple or Google processes the payment; we store only a transaction reference and “this player owns it” |
Note: Daily Tilt does not use Apple Game Center.
Leaderboards are run on our own server, and on Android may optionally be linked to Google Play Games.
Advertising
The free version shows rewarded ads, which you choose to watch, provided by
Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers (such as the advertising
identifier) and usage signals to serve and measure ads, as described in
Google’s Privacy Policy and
AdMob’s data practices.
On iOS, Daily Tilt does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies
without your permission. If we ever request the App Tracking Transparency permission, choosing
“Ask App Not to Track” is fully respected. You can also reset or limit your advertising
identifier in your device settings — Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking
on iOS, or Google settings on Android. Buying Daily Tilt Plus removes all advertising, and with
it the AdMob SDK’s ad requests.
What we do not collect
- No email address, phone number, or contacts from the app
- No precise location
- No photos, files, microphone, or camera access
- No selling of personal data, to anyone, ever
- The phone-tilt control, if you enable it, reads the orientation sensor
on the device only — sensor data never leaves your phone
Legal bases for processing
Where UK/EU data protection law applies, we rely on: legitimate interests
for running and securing our services, keeping leaderboards honest, and understanding product
usage; performance of a contract for delivering purchases you have made and
answering your support requests; and consent for push notifications and for
personalised advertising, each of which you opt into and can withdraw at any time.
Children
Daily Tilt is a general-audience puzzle game with no chat, no free-text input visible to
others except your chosen leaderboard display name, and no content unsuitable for children.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children; the random player ID is not
tied to a real-world identity. Ads are served through Google AdMob configured for family-safe,
non-personalised delivery where required by law, for example for users under the applicable
age of digital consent. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us
and we will delete it.
International transfers
Our own servers are located in London.
Some of our service providers — Apple, Google and Firebase Cloud Messaging — process data in
other countries, including the United States, under the safeguards those companies publish
(such as Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework).
Data retention and deletion
Gameplay records are kept while your player ID remains active. Server-side records tied to
an inactive player ID are removed after 24 months. To delete your data, email us the display
name and approximate dates you played from
support@kirstensander.com, or simply uninstall
the app — a fresh install starts with a brand-new random ID that has no link to the old one.
Security
All traffic between our apps, this website and our servers uses HTTPS. Leaderboard writes
are verified server-side — the server replays your move sequence — so tampering with clients
cannot corrupt other players’ data.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, for example under UK GDPR, EU GDPR or the CCPA in California,
you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your data, to object to or
restrict processing, and to withdraw consent. Contact us and we will honour these requests for
the data we hold, normally within 30 days.
If you are in the UK and are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to
the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. If you are
in the EU, you may complain to your national supervisory authority.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the “last updated” date above changes and the new version
is published at this same address before it takes effect.
